On Sunday, we had the blessing of attending Salvation Church. This church family is obviously close-knit, with a firm foundation on Christ and the Word. The members of the church have a huge passion for reaching the pre-believers in their community. But another passion they have is their passion for raising the children of the church for the Lord. Saturday before the AWANA picnic we attended and assisted with, the volunteer leaders gathered around in a circle to pray over the kids and the day. And on Sunday, all the children came up to the front before dismissal to Sunday school. The teachers and congregation then prayed over the kids, that they would have ears to hear the lessons and grow strong in their faith.

Wow.

Church in America, what if we did that? What if we put as much time into praying over the kids in our church community as we did planning awesome lessons and games? What if we coated all the children in prayer before, during, and after Sunday school, AWANA, Bible study, youth group, and special events? What could God accomplish through these precious ones because they are covered in prayer and protection? Church, these precious souls are the next generation! The way we raise, shape, and pour into them will determine the direction our society will go. Yes, the primary responsibility of this should fall on the parents, but we as the church can help shape their lives by covering them in prayer, as well as teaching them about Christ. I would love to see the Church body in America taking the example of our Ukrainian brothers and sisters. Let’s rise up, Church, and pray for our young ones!
