It was a beautiful, chilly Swazi morning. As I sat in the back of the truck with the kids going to school, we chatted about the upcoming special day into town. The squad raised money to take all the kids into town to see a movie and get pizza. As the excitement about the excursion mounted, the kids kept asking, "What movie are we gonna see?" LaShon kept patiently telling them, "Don't worry about anything. All you need to do is get in the car."
Later, as she and I discussed plans for after the Race, and how God has yet to reveal every detail about what life after the Race will look like, my mind went back to the conversation with the kids. So often, I get ahead of myself, trying to guess and figure out what's coming next. I want to know all the details. I love the details! Just give them to me, God!
But He softly and patiently tells me over and over, "All you have to do is get in the car. Don't worry about anything." He has a fantastic plan in place for my life, that is still in the process of unfolding. I really don't need to know every detail of it, because I know it will be good. Just like the kids trusted us to provide them with an amazing and memorable day of fun, I can trust God with all the details of what's coming next. All I need to do is get in the car and enjoy the ride.
