Our last full day in Harbin, the girls on my team decided to explore the city and find Milk and Honey Land Cafe, a coffee shop a few other teams had stumbled upon earlier in the month. We knew it was run by Chris and Lucy, a sweet Chinese couple who had studied in the UK for a few years before feeling God calling them back to Harbin. They opened the cafe in order to minister and witness to their community, especially the college students in the area. They've only been open three months, and days before the first U Squad teams walked through the door, Lucy had been praying for God to take over the coffee shop and turn it into something amazing. U Squad was an answer to prayer, as the teams who discovered it used it as a place to hold Bible studies, English corners, and even a movie night!

I walked in and immediately fell in love with the place! It looked like something straight out of Pinterest, and the whole atmosphere was filled with God's love. We stayed for a few hours, and then had the opportunity to pray over Chris and Lucy and the work they're doing. It was a great afternoon!

My brief afternoon at Milk and Honey Land Cafe taught me that you don't have to have a "glamorous" missionary job to be effective in God's Kingdom. Even something as simple as a coffee shop can be a tool for the Gospel to spread through a community. It's definitely shown me that even in months where God has me do things that don't seem worthwhile to me, He is still using me to impact the world. And that is sweeter than honey.
