It’s so hard to believe that it’s month 3 on the Race already! Country #3 to explore, to learn the language and the culture, to discover the best place to get peanut butter. My squad met up in Chiang Mai, Thailand and traveled by bus to Siem Reap, Cambodia. We experienced our first border crossing at Poipet, which was an adventure, but it went really smoothly. Most of us took the opportunity of being in Siem Reap to visit Angkor Wat. I’m so glad I decided to go, because it was amazing to see the ruins of the temple. Definitely up there with the Great Wall of China for coolest piece of history I’ve seen on the Race thus far. The next morning, Fearless Unity traveled 8 hours to Phnom Penh on the hottest bus ever. It was so cool to see the Cambodian countryside, but we roasted. We made it safely, though, and we didn’t melt.
Our ministry this month is BYKOTA House, a small home for around 23 kids at risk due to poverty, threat of being sold in the sex trade, or abuse. We have our own little apartment, complete with kitchenette where we cook our own meals. Every morning I get to love on four precious children with special needs. Tedah, Sammy, Tina, and Hope have already stolen my heart, and I’m so blessed to be able to pour into them this month! In the afternoons, I get to channel my inner Christmas elf and make Christmas presents and decorations. This month is going to be an amazing month of God blessing me with all the things that make me happy! I am so excited to share with all of you the stories that come out of it!
