LAUNCH!!!!!

For those of you unfamiliar with World Race terminology, Launch is an event that happens right before I leave on the World Race/the actual date I leave. It's a time of further training, quality time with my squad, and time to focus on and dive into the Word and God's presence to set a firm foundation for the Race. And it's the last few days on American soil for almost a year. As of today, I have the dates for Launch!

On September 7th, I will travel down to Atlanta, GA to check into a hotel with the rest of the crazies that make up my squad. We'll have a session and worship that night, and have a chance to catch up with each other. My mom (and hopefully but probably not my dad…stupid Scout training thing!) will travel down with me and stay in a separate hotel. She will attend the parent seminars AIM has provided, and get a chance to worship with me and my squad. Then on the 8th, I'll be in morning sessions, and so will she. She'll have a chance to eat lunch with me and my team (Fearless Unity woot!) before she heads back to Raleigh. So we'll say our goodbyes then. Very bittersweet. Then I'll remain in Atlanta for a couple more days completing my training before heading to the airport with my squad and boarding a plane to CHINA!

SEPTEMBER 10th!!!!!! That's the official date this whole crazy and amazing adventure will start! We will fly out the 10th and end up in China who knows when (we're looking at like a 20+ hour flight…can you say Ambien?) to start our month of ministry there. Hopefully in the next few days, I'll know where in China I'll be. I won't be able to post it on the Internet (since China is a closed country and we need to protect our contacts), but feel free to ask and I can tell you!

I'm so excited to finally know the exact date I'll be leaving! With that, however, I do have some sadness. It seems so much more real now, now that I know when I'll be leaving the country. Will you be in prayer for me and my family, please? We're trying to make the most of our time left together, while I'm still trying to get everything done! Part of me wants more time. But a HUGE part of me says, "Let's get this party goin' already!"
