Before I post about all the amazing things God taught me through my month in Swaziland, I figured I'd update y'all on what I actually did! I could write several paragraphs on what I did, or I could make a daily schedule of my life in Swaziland. And if you know me, you know how much I love schedules, so enjoy!

Monday:

6am: Wake up

6:30am-7am: Set up breakfast, boil water for coffee, read Bible in the quiet kitchen as the sun rises

7am-8:30am: Monitor breakfast, refill hot water, clean up breakfast, set up for lunch

8:30am-12:30pm: Work with Brian, an almost 3-year-old with cerebral palsy. Addison and I teamed up to do different therapies with him. He totally stole my heart with his brilliant smile, his joy, and his flirtatiousness!

12:30pm-3pm: Eat lunch, clean up from lunch, start prepping for dinner

3pm-5pm: Buddy time with Nomphilo! She's an 11-year-old sweetheart who is incredibly smart and so very funny! I helped her with homework, came up with different writing exercises, played Bananagrams, Pass the Pigs, and Hangman, listened to endless books read aloud, and encouraged her budding artistic talent. I loved spending time with her!

5pm-6:30pm: Cook dinner with the rest of the food team. Emily, Bethany, LaShon, and I were in charge of cooking dinners, shopping, and making sure our kitchen stayed clean. It was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun!

6:30pm-8:30pm: Eat dinner, listen to announcements, listen to devotion, worship, team time, get ready for bed

8:30pm-8:45pm: Read a few pages before passing out

So there you have it! Just a sample of my busy life on top of a mountain in Swaziland! Tuesdays and Fridays the food team traveled almost an hour into town to shop for food for the squad, so that was cool to be able to get off the mountain twice a week. This month exhausted me physically (and a little bit mentally…absolutely NO time to recharge my batteries!), but it was a really great month. Swaziland is beautiful, filled with beautiful people! I definitely won't forget my time there!
