So this is a day late…oops! I meant to blog yesterday (actually, I've meant to blog for awhile now…summer camp craziness has begun!) but housework took precedence. As of yesterday, I only have 3 weeks left until training camp! It's so unbelievable that it's come this quickly! Things are definitely starting to become real. For training camp, I'll be driving down to Atlanta (after picking up one of my squad mates who lives near Hickory, NC) for a week of intense training. Adventures in Missions specifically tells Racers not to share a lot about training camp on their blogs, so that future Racers can come into training camp with no expectations. A huge part of the Race is trusting God and your team when you're not in control of a situation, and training camp is a great way to get ready for that aspect of the Race. But I do expect to get down and dirty, sleep in my tent, in the open, or on a school bus, eat some weird things, and have some really powerful and intense worship. Mostly right now I'm excited to meet my squad mates in person. I've spent the last few months getting to know them on Facebook and video chats, and I'm so ready to talk to them in person! I'm also really excited and nervous about finding out who's on my team. I'm trying to be open about who's on my team, but of course there are a few people I hope I'm matched with. Mostly I'm excited and nervous, because I know after training camp, the World Race will seem so much more real! Thanks for following! I'm planning some posts about the countries I'll be visiting soon!
