ABI DOLIHITE,
you bring new perspectives. You bring a great willingness to go where the spirit guides you or anyone else on our team. You have Jesus’ spirit when it comes to “anything goes” in worship. You have eyes to see that no matter what we do or what songs we sing, it will all always bring glory to God as long as you have the right heart posture. You are constantly seeking to see God’s face and you never sing a song you don’t mean. Even when your circumstances aren’t ideal, you don’t use those circumstances as an excuse to not worship and seek the Lord. You see and fully know and believe that God is good, sweet, faithful, and kind. It gives you confidence to worship the Lord even when things are hard. God loves your heart so much. You carry a great weight of God’s empathy and understanding. You don’t second guess when the Lord speaks to you. You don’t hesitate to be obedient. You are a wonderful friend. Always there for a good, hard conversation, and always there to make me laugh. You’re absolutely incredible. Love you sweet friend ๐

NATHAN MULLIS,
you bring optimism, grace, and peace. You intentionally choose to follow where the Holy Spirit leads you in worship without hesitation. If he tells you to stay on one song for a long time, you do. If he tells you to sing a song that we didn’t plan to sing, you sing it to the best of your ability, despite the fact that you don’t even have the chords to guide you. You create a space of worship where you openly allow the Holy Spirit to move in new ways. You have a pure, childlike excitement that occurs when God moves in new surprising ways. You always seek to see more of Christ. You’re always reaching out your palms to God, asking for him to give you something new because your hunger for him is so great, but you’re never upset when you don’t get something new, radical, and exciting. You have peace. He loves the hunger that you hold. You have a heart to understand the minds of people around you and you are always willing to listen and seek to understand. You create a safe place for people to ask the questions they may be afraid to ask and say the things they may be afraid to say. You’re a rockin’ friend who carries the heart of our Heavenly Father. Love you, my friend ๐

Now, to my team….
wow. I don’t think I could’ve asked for a better group to lead worship with. We work well together because we all have the same goal and intentions when we go into preparing and leading worship. To give all the glory to God, and to worship with pure soul’s. “A pure soul is someone who’s intentions are honest. It is someone who does things for the joy of doing them, not for merit or status. It is a soul whose decisions come from within, from what the soul believes to be good/right, instead of for attention or glory.” That’s what each one of us live by as we go into leading worship for the squad. In our first ever meeting as a team, we discussed what our job as worship leaders truly was. We came to the conclusion that it is not our job to make people worship but to simply give out the invitations to. Worship is not a competition or talent show or show and tell presentation. It’s a lifestyle of intimacy with the Father and ascribing worth to him through everything we do. Yep. It’s not a set time, it’s a lifestyle. Thank you Nathan and Abi for calm spirits and intentionality. Thank you for sweet friendship. Thank you for continuously being led by the Holy Spirit and not by your own desires when we go into planning worship. I’m super thankful for this season that the Lord has given us to be able to lead together. You guys are awesome. Love y’all ๐
