Getting ready for the race has been something that really can't be put into words for me. It is something where I have to fully and whole heartedly depend on God with finances and taking care of my loved ones at home while I am on the race. It has been a great journey so far and I have been extremely blessed with an awesome team that is gathering around me to get me on this race and to shower me with prayers.
Today I had a lunch date with my daddy. It was something that wasn't planned but it was something that I needed. We had some great conversation about this next adventure that I am about to go and do. But then he began to explain something to me. I have never understood, why I think the way I do about missions. A lot of it was stuff that no one taught me, it was just what i knew and it came to me. No one ever taught me how to think certain ways about about missions, but I have always just had so much going on in this brain of mine about missions and what we need to do.

My dad shared with me of our family background of missions. He began to tell me that before my grandparents would go on a mission trip they would fast for 30days straight prior to their trip. I always knew that every trip that they went on was all out of faith, but i never knew that they fasted with no food. Then he began to tell me about visions that the Lord would give them, and whenever they went to these countries they would see it come to past. I WANT THAT!
Now that my grandparents are retired they are passing the mantle down to me. What an honor. i know that they have done great things, and i can only pray that God will allow me to go farther and deeper and do greater things for His kingdom. The kewl thing is that it didn't start with just my grandparents. My grandma's aunt and uncle were missionaries for many years. They were very passionate and started things that changed lives around the world.
I learned so much about my mission background with my dad today. It gave me a HUGE revelation and understanding of why i am so passionate, because it has been passed down from generations. I am one LUCKY BLESSED KID! It is such a great honor to carry on my family's tradition in missions.
