Este blog es más largo de lo usual. ¡Pero léanlo! Les prometo que va a valer la pena. (;
En el libro “El hacedor de círculos” de Mark Batterson se narra una historia en la que un pueblo estaba pasando por una fuerte sequía. Un personaje dibuja un círculo en el piso y empieza a orar dentro de él, pidiéndole a Dios que hiciera llover. Al cabo de un tiempo Dios manda una llovizna. Sin embargo, el personaje no se conforma y ora con más fervor, diciendo que él no se va a mover de ese círculo hasta que Dios mande una lluvia generosa y abundante. ¡Ellos terminaron recibiendo una lluvia que desbordaba!
Esta semana me sentí identificada con esa historia. Contexto: No soy de una familia de plata. Más bien, llevamos meses de estar pasando por una situación económica muy difícil. Luego, Dios con su sentido de humor, me llama a hacer The World Race. Inmediatamente me imaginaba diciéndole a mis papás, “Sé que no tenemos mucho dinero, pero voy a hacer este viaje misionero. Ah y por cierto, ocupo $20.000.” ¡¿Con qué cara iba a decir eso?! Fue así como rechacé el llamado de Dios por un tiempo. Sin embargo, Él se encargó de dejarme muy claro que este es el plan que tiene para mí y que no debo preocuparme por el dinero. Así que dije que sí!
No sabía cómo iban a reaccionar mi familia a esta noticia. Son cristianos y sabía que entenderían, pero no sabía qué tanto les iba a parecer realmente y cómo me querrían apoyar. Hoy puedo decir que el apoyo de ellos ha sido MUCHO MÁS de lo que pude pedir. No encuentro las palabras para agradecerles por su apoyo y la confianza que tienen en Dios y en este proyecto.
De vuelta a esta semana, se acerca la primera fecha de pago y aún me falta bastante dinero. Pero todo bien, sé que Dios va a proveer. Sin embargo, para esta semana que acaba de terminar, tenía que pagar varias cosas relacionadas a actividades para World Race. Además, en la casa se nos estaban acumulando las obligaciones por pagar y agotando las reservas económicas que teníamos. Es una de esas semanas en las que en serio no sabemos qué vamos a hacer. Sin embargo, me puse a orar como lo hizo el personaje de la historia, con fervor y fe, confiando en que en los días por venir iba a ver la provisión milagrosa de Dios, porque Él es fiel.
¡La semana empezó y empecé a recibir varias donaciones para mi viaje, sin pedirlas, incluso de parte de desconocidos! Ya tenía el dinero para pagar lo de mis actividades. Sin embargo, en la casa los pagos se seguían acumulando y todo se nos estaba acabando. Dios estaba respondiendo, pero solo con una “llovizna”. No quería ser malagradecida, pero honestamente estaba frustrada. Así que seguimos orando, “Dios, te agradezco por lo que has hecho hasta ahora, pero sé que tienes más para nosotros. ¡Manda tu provisión para mi familia!” Seguido de eso, mi papá me cuenta que recibió un mensaje de un socio que quería reunirse con él. Al día siguiente, teníamos en nuestras manos un cheque que no esperábamos. ¡Pudimos salir de todo lo que había que pagar! ¡Dios en serio mandó su lluvia abundante! (También el clima ha estado lluvioso, entonces más chiva aún).

Sin duda, cada día este versículo me llega más. Cuando nada tiene sentido Dios sí lo tiene. Y confío en Él porque es bueno, fiel, provee, hace milagros y NUNCA nos ha dejado solos. Además, desde hace tiempos estaba encargando nuevas camisas para mi recaudación de fondos y traen este versículo en ellas. Justamente las recibí esta semana, como cereza en el pastel.
Y usted, ¿qué lluvia necesita de parte de Dios? Pídale, adórele, agradézcale!
Pd: Para los que me han preguntado que cómo voy con el dinero:
¡Mmm pues tengo que conseguir como $3000 en 3 semanas! Suena humanamente imposible. Pero como ya pudieron ver, Dios es fiel y sé que va a tocar los corazones correctos para apoyarme económicamente. No tengo duda alguna de que tendré ese dinero y más. Así que en resumen, ¡todo bien! (:

The book “Circle Maker” by Mark Batterson tells a story of a town that was going through a severe drought. A character draws a circle on the floor and begins to pray in it, asking God to make it rain. After a while, God sends a drizzle. However, the character does not settle but prays with more strength, saying that he is not going to move from that circle until God sends a generous and abundant rain. They ended up receiving a flooding rain!
This week I felt identified with that story. Context: I am not from a wealthy family. Rather, we have been going through a very difficult economic situation for months. Then, God with his sense of humor, calls me to do the World Race. Immediately I pictured myself telling my parents, “I know we don’t have much money, but I’m going to go on this mission trip. Oh and by the way, I need $20,000.” How could I tell them that?! That’s how I rejected God’s calling for a while. However, He made it very clear that this was His plan for me and that I shouldn’t worry about money. So I said yes!
I didn’t know how my family would react to this news. They are Christians and I knew they would understand, but I didn’t know if they would really agree and how much would they support me. Today I can say that their support has been MUCH MORE than I could have ask for. I can not find the words to thank them for their support and how they trust God and this project.
Back to this week, the first payment deadline is approaching and I still need a lot of money. But it’s all good, I know that God will provide. However, for this week that just ended, I had to pay several things related to World Race activities. In addition, in my house we were running out of supplies and economic reserves, while our obligations were accumulating. It’s one of those weeks where we really don’t know what to do. However, I began to pray as the character in the story did, with fervor and faith, trusting that in the days to come I would see the miraculous provision of God, because He is faithful.
The week started and I began to receive several donations for my trip, without asking for them, even from strangers! I already had the money to pay for my activities. However, in the house the payments kept accumulating and we were running out of everything. God was answering, but only with a “drizzle.” I didn’t want to be ungrateful, but I was honestly frustrated. So we kept on praying, “God, I thank you for what you’ve done so far, but I know you have more for us. Send your provision for my family!” Next thing I know, my dad tells me he received a message from a partner who wanted to meet with him. The next day, we had a check in our hands that we did not expect. We were able to pay everything we had to! God really sent his abundant rain! (Also, weather in Costa Rica has been rainy, even cooler).
“Trust the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5
Without a doubt, this verse gets me more every time. When nothing makes sense God does. And I trust him because He is good, faithful, provides, works miracles, and has NEVER left us alone. Also, for a while I had been ordering new fundraising shirts with this verse on them. I actually just received them this same week!

Mmm well I still have to raise like $ 3000 in 3 weeks! It sounds humanly impossible. But as you can see, God is faithful and I know that he will touch the right hearts to support me financially. I have no doubt that I will have that money and more. So in summary, it’s all good! (:
