We’re looking for radically committed disciples. This goes without saying for all of our programs at AIM, but the Novas Project is an 8-month missions

Moldova: The Wolf Wears Two Coats – Stephanie FiskA week before arriving in Moldova for the second time, they
held their presidential elections. Long
story short, it was political corruption at its best. One candidate was democratic (for the people
and for change) and one was ‘communist’. According to my friends in Moldova, the
president had many of the girls (protestors) arrested, transported them to a
make-shift prison, and held them hostage to be used and raped by government
officials. The protesting has yet to
resurface and Moldova still lies in the jaws of the wolf…

Andrea – Rebekah PhelpsA few years ago Andrea and her boyfriend got pregnant. He told her she must choose him or choose the
baby- she couldn’t have both. She
struggled with the decision but chose the boyfriend and aborted the baby. A year later, she becomes pregnant again and
the same boyfriend gave her the ultimatum once more. Andrea knew how badly she regretted the
abortion and refused to make the same decision that caused her so much
agony. But her boyfriend threatened to
kick her out of their flat and she had no support from her parents who were
also pushing for another abortion. Against all odds, she chose to have the baby. Read more…

Marilyn Manson – Marisa Banas
All seven of us were waiting for our bus to come. Unfortunately we had just missed it so I decided to rest my back on a nearby post. Others followed me and as we chatted Elizabeth noticed that I was leaning against a very scary looking man with one weird eye ball. The man was Marilyn Manson and I was leaning on his concert poster. He became the topic of our conversation and when we realized that the concert was the next day I exclaimed, “Hey, lets go there!” Read more…

The World Race has many alumni who choose to return to the mission field in various capacities. Shawna Spratt went on the World Race in 2007 and the experience wrecked her for the better. One of the things that shattered Shawna’s heart was the issue of human trafficking and she’s dedicated herself to fighting it. Recently she’s been in India working with and establishing some ministries. Check out her video below to learn more about what she’s been doing.

The World Race partners with a host of other missionaries and ministries overseas. One of these so happens to be “The Well”, whose ministry is overseen in Bangkok, Thailand by Jim and Judy Larson. Here’s a glimpse from Kim Daniels on her experience with them:

Bangkok, Thailand has
thousands of bars, with thousands of women who believe that selling
themselves is their only option. Some have been forced into this life;
some have been trafficked and work because of fear. The Well is a safe
place where women can begin to build another life for themselves and
their children, learning life skills by making high quality jewelry and
crafts as an occupation. But she learns more than life skills here. Read more…
