:: Upcoming Races ::

In August of this year, The World Race is sending out another group of young people who are passionate about seeing God’s kingdom come to earth – the whole earth. Ireland. Egypt. Thailand. And more…

You could be one of them.

Think about it: Wouldn’t you like the next year of your life to take you on an adventure that will change the course of your future?  The World Race is coming and that adventure awaits you.

:: Real Life Expedition ::

Here at the World Race we have many applications come through our door from eager radicals who are just too young to go on the 11-month mission trip.  Lucky for them, we have another option.

It’s called Real Life Expedition

Instead of traveling the world for 11-months while embracing complete abandonment, Real Lifers only travel for two.  Experience out-of-the-box ministry, self-growth, raw community, and several doses of adventure.  Real Life Expedition is a high-octane experience for 18-22 year-olds craving a World Race type of journey.

The White Doves – Di Dinnis
When I came to Cambodia to teach English I didn’t think I would be working with women in the sex trade, but God once again my expectations were shattered and I had the opportunity to work with a ministry called the White Doves. In Cambodia, some women working in the sex trade work in karaoke bars. They get the men to come in by singing karaoke with them. While the girls are working the men may sleep with them if the men choose. These girls give their lives and purity away because they see no other option of supporting themselves.  Read more…

A Night with Zodwa – Amy McAllister
Sometimes I have moments where I am overwhelmed by God’s love. This is one of those moments. Nothing significant has happened. I am just being. Sitting I feel God’s love flow through my entire body. Sometimes we make God too complicated. It is simple. He loves me. I love Him. I give Him my life. He will take care of the rest.

This is the kind of simplistic love we wanted to share with Zodwa, an eighteen-year-old girl who sells her body in order to survive in Swaziland.  Read more…

Poeticized India – Aaron Darlington
India is a breathing dichotomy. Priestly Brahmin and scholars of Vedic literature cohabit with society’s lowest rung: the untouchables. Wealthy sages meditate upon life’s mysteries while beside them vagabonds beg for their next meal. Tourists pay fifteen dollars to photograph the Taj Mahal while children across the river waste away in its wondrous shadow.  See more…

:: World Race Training Camp ::

Preparing World Race missionaries for the field is a life-changing experience for participants in and of itself.  Taylor Griffith, an upcoming June 2009 World Racer is no exception.  During his ten day training camp a few weeks ago, he walked away completely transformed, ready to storm the mission field with Kingdom force.

It’s Ok to Not be Ok – Taylor Griffith
I’ve learned that it’s OK that I’m not OK.  Because of Christ and the freedom that is in Him, I don’t have to try and live up to something I’m not!  Praise Jesus!  I’ve found a community where we all realize that everyone’s jacked up and instead of separating themselves from me because of it, I’ve found that I get pulled in closer and hugged even tighter as a result.  Read more…
