Last week wrapped up an awakening for the 16,000 college students who attended Urbana 09. AIM had the opportunity to host a booth on behalf of Real Life and The World Race, so Kelly and Kim checked in with the following update:

Urbana 09“Throughout the week, 16,000 students worshiped in English, Swahili, Arabic, Spanish and more –  the energy was palpable.  Students and young adults found themselves
understanding God’s world in a whole new way.  And this year over a thousand college students surrendered their lives to a life of missions!

The Lord opened eyes to his heart for some of the harder, more painful places in the world.  Students were awakened to the more that God
wants to show them – the girl on the street corner of Bangkok, the orphan in
Swaziland who walks three miles a day for a single meal, the
homeless man on the streets of Philadelphia who used to be an engineer until
his wife died and he drank himself into oblivion.

Each are waiting to hear that they are loved, valuable and
don’t have to do this life alone.  They
need help – and so the Lord is sending us.
The World Race booth alone had over 150 applications and we were able to talk with thousands of fellow believers and purveyors of the Kingdom.

And as midnight rang in on New Year’s Eve, 16,000 students and young adults brought in 2010 with worship and communion.  God is good!  On the fun side – our booth was
voted, “Most Likely to Attract a Party!”

Please be praying that the Lord would continue to work in
the students hearts and minds as they seek the next step for their lives.  Pray that he would ignite in their hearts a
greater purpose for his Kingdom.
