"You have no idea how much of a miracle it is to be able to say this, but the World Race has entered Latvia" said staff member Laura Williams, "In February we had only one contact, and one we couldn't afford at that. Through prayer, costs came down and we ended up having more contacts than we know what to do with."

After spending 8 months in summer climates around the world, F Squad entered Latvia in a frigid snowstorm, wearing only tank tops, shorts, and sandals.

"We knew it would be cold in Riga," said Racer Amanda Kerr, "but the snowfall was an amazing surprise! Many of us had been dreaming of snow after spending time in the hottest countries in the world.

Through what we like to call a Latvian miracle, some Christians we met the first night cooked all 50 of us a hot meal. But it didn't end there. Their church congregation collected shoes, boots, warm clothing, and winter coats that they donated at no cost. We worshipped together in their church and spent the Easter holiday together."

F Squad came to bring the kingdom of God to Latvia, but instead Latvia brought it to them.

"Other months we were able to control things, but here, we had no control. It gave God the space to provide for us. I want more of that in my life. I want less control and more trust."

After these Racers finish their time in Latvia, they'll travel to the other Baltic states: Lithuania and Estonia. Two more World Race firsts.

We're sure that as we, as an organization and a family, take this step of faith to enter unknown territory, God will continue to show up and welcome us to these new nations.

He'll provide when we can't provide for ourselves. He'll honor faith and risk, and we know he will show up. As we seek to bring the kingdom of God to earth, we trust that we will be encouraraged to see that's it's already here.
