It’s almost December, which means Christmas is just around the corner. While we’re all busy decking the halls and sipping hot cocoa, four squads of passionate young missionaries are preparing to launch on the World Race as soon as the New Year rings in. Their Christmas lists are made of REI gift cards and extra carabiners – if it doesn’t fit in a backpack, it doesn’t belong under the tree this year.

Christmas this year doesn’t just look different for our upcoming Racers. It’s an interesting time for their parents too. Christmas is about giving, and they’re about to give up their kids for 11 months so they can go serve the nations.

So, future World Race parents, this year we’re giving you a little something special. Instead of staying up late wrapping presents and playing Santa Claus, let us give you a gift. Every Monday all December we’ll be featuring guest posts from those who’ve gone before you.

Each week a parent of a World Race alumnus will share advice for future parents, encouragement about the journey ahead, and stories of how their children’s experiences on the Race changed them too.

Some of you are as excited as your kids are about their upcoming adventures, and some of you are understandably nervous. Either way, this is your journey too, and we know you’ll be blessed by this blog series.
So make sure you’re subscribed to our updates so they’ll hit your inbox starting Monday.

Merry (early) Christmas, and thank you for raising a world changer.
