On Good Friday, we remember his death. We consider how he not only bid us to follow him and die, but that he followed the Father’s will and laid down his life for us.
Today, we celebrate Easter, his resurrection; we rejoice that we share in his risen life, too. We live in victory, over sin, over death, and everything in between.
This morning, a few people gathered in a house in Gainesville, Georgia for church, and during worship, we shared stories of resurrection. We celebrated that in the midst of tragedy, there is hope. We heard a story of how God raises dreams that we thought had died, how God redeems pain that made life seem too unbearable. We heard stories of the Holy Spirit demonstrating the power of the resurrection in incredible, tangible ways.
“Sometimes resurrection takes awhile,” said one World Race alumna this morning. For Jesus, it took three days to accomplish his mission on earth. For each of us, it will vary. It may, take, say, eleven months. It may take a few weeks or a number of years. But we can rest assured that as his children, it is happening.
After all, is that not why we greet each other on Easter, that he is risen, present tense?
How are you witnessing resurrection in your life, in your community, in the world? How is hope manifesting in you?
Christ is risen.
