In the past few weeks our World Racers have seen a deaf man healed, cancer diminish, Thanksgiving for street kids, vision restored, and been wrecked. Sounds like ordinary Christian living to us!
Stephanie May of the September 2011 A squad shared about God using her in Nepal to heal a deaf man right there in front of her!I was wandering around taking pictures (again), and they invited people up to be prayed for healing. I saw a man being pushed forward by what looked to be his son, but he looked embarrassed and kept shying away, not wanting to go up.Again, I heard God say, “Go pray for him!” So I walked up to him and mimed to the best of my ability asking if I could pray for him. Good thing I mimed because not only did he not speak English, but he was deaf.Having absolutely no idea what I was doing, I placed my hands over his ears and began to pray that God would open his ears…
On November 23, 2011, 92 individuals were taken off the street and out of the alley for one night. They were given an opportunity to be families without having to worry about where dinner was going to come from, or how they were going to provide for their kids. Instead the whole family got to have a family night and embrace God’s love and appreciation for them.
Yesterday, our team went to a ‘retirement home’. As we walked in, my eyes started to hurt and the word cataracts popped in my head. I told everyone that we needed to find a blind person. When we prayed for him, this is what some of mine sounded like, ‘Jesus this has to completely come from you! I can’t do anything without you!’ The love of Jesus opened the eyes of a man that had lost all but complete vision for ten years. I was so humbled by the Glory of God that I got down on my knees and worshiped Him!
Dear Seth Barnes,It worked!Do you remember when you were sitting in your garage, with not much more than a vision from God?A vision of a generation that would become wrecked for the Kingdom of God. A vision of a journey. A journey that would lead to abandonment, brokenness, dependency, and empowerment. A vision that would call forth the greatness of a generation. A vision that would mobilize that generation, to live out Kingdom dreams on this earth. A vision that would change the world……it worked. We are wrecked for life.
