The Seven W.O.E.s of Cool Running’s

After the last debrief my team changed slightly and so did our name. We went from Living Water to Cool Runnings and here is a quick blog with Words Of Encouragement (WOE) for each teammate.

Team Leader Johnny:
I could probably write an entire blog on Johnny and why he is a true man of God that I trust without reservation. Johnny is the type of man who may not fit the societal stipulations of what a man should be. He puts no weight in what the world thinks of him. Johnny holds himself to God’s standard of what a man should be.  Johnny is the type of leader who will always put the wants and needs of his team before his wants and desires. He is more concerned about being pure in mind and body than keeping a tally of conquests that society claims is what makes a boy a man.

Cheyanne:
Cheyanne is new to our team and is an amazing addition. She has a heart that is constantly seeking more from Jesus and is currently memorizing the book of James.  She brings to our team another unique sense of humor that is contagious and fun to be around.

Nathan:
Nathan is a man I am so grateful to have as a friend and brother. He finds a way to connect with people that is natural to them. Whether that be cars, athletics, or just having a good conversation. Nathan is the type of man that is going to do great things because he cares about doing good things. Nathan strives to help people become the best that they can be. Whether that be giving them subtle suggestions on grammar improvement or empowering them to make an idea a reality, he sees the best in people and brings it out of them.

Angela:
Angela has a heart that breaks for those who have nothing, or who cannot help themselves. She is willing to jump right in and serve. When Angela sees a problem she tries to find a way to correct the problem, or finds somebody who can correct the problem.

Joshua:
Joshua has faith like no other person on our team. He and his wife are the only married couple on our squad. Therefore they had to raise double the support as a single racer. In October while in Honduras Josh heard the Lord say that he was going to finish the race in its entirety. At the end of February they still needed $12,000 to be fully funded. Arrangements were being made by the staff for Josh and Jen to return home.  Josh stood by the whole time watching everyone around him lose faith that they would be finishing the race. Josh held onto what the Lord told him several months previously and he got the last smile when God showed up and fully funded them in five minutes.

Jen:
Jen has the ability when she writes to draw you into her stories as though you actually experienced the event that she is writing about along with her. Jen wants to make sure that we make prayer a priority in our team and is quite intentional about ensuring that we pray before beginning tasks or our day.

Rachel:
Rachel is also a new addition to our team. In the week that I have had with her so far, I can tell that she is someone who is genuinely concerned with her teammates. She has a desire to get to know all of us on a personal level. I cannot wait to get to know her more and to hear her story.
