In September of 2011 when I first applied for The World Race, I was unsure of where any of the money was going to come from. Including the first $150.00 needed to commit to the race. Which is less than one percent of the total that I needed God to bring in for me to go. The day before I needed to have the initial $150 into my fundraising account God provided me with the money and the means to get it sent in on time. Over the course of the next several months my fundraising account had to move to $3,500 to get myself to training camp. I had no idea how that was going to happen. God had a plan though. God opened up the doors to several small groups and Churches in North Carolina where I was living at the time, as well as getting me back to Minnesota for a week to speak at two tiny churches in my home community. Through those speaking engagements God gave me the money to meet my first deadline and to make it to Training Camp. Following Training Camp I had just over a month to raise $3000 so I could launch with my squad. And God working through many people brought my account over what was needed to launch. On August 26th the wonderful community of Henning came and supported me with nearly $4000.00 at a spaghetti feed. That reaffirmed my confidence that God is in control of the finances. After launching I have had several small and a few large donations to get me to the place that I am at. I still need $3,501.42 to get me fully funded and to allow me to finish the race. The first $3500 scared the daylights out of me because I didn’t fully trust God to provide the funds. This last $3500 while I do not know where it is coming from does not faze me. I know God will work through friends and family and the friends and family of my friends and family. I trust that I will not be coming home until the end of July after the race officially ends, but if the funds do not come in I also trust that it is not because I failed at fundraising or one of a number of other lies Satan could attempt to tell me. I would be coming home early only because that is where God wants me and because He has a greater story to tell through me to bring him glory back in the States. I do not believe however that God wants me to return home quite yet. He is still refining me out in the field and in this great community. I would like to ask each of you to ask God if he is asking you to make a donation. I have until March 1st for the $3500 to come and for me to stay and continue on the race past the end of this month. Please spend some time asking God to provide for me financially and asking God if He wants you to make a donation. Also of 130 people gave $27.00 for my 27th birthday on March 11th I would be fully funded. J
