Life Update!

My team (Fresh Fire)and along with 4 other World Race Teams are being sent to Jaco Costa Rica

We will be partnering with a Ministry called Oceans edge.

Ocean’s Edge exists to facilitate, train, and mobilize others to live the abundant life through a mission lifestyle. This is done in 3 main ways The Edge ministry base, missions programs, and other outreach programs.

Though ministry could change based on current needs, the teams and missional individuals will assist in construction/maintenance projects on the Edge property to build out a facility with marketing and sewing classrooms, a retail store, and a coffee shop to train up locals and missionaries with business skills to send people on mission around the world!

With our missional efforts, we will also be partnering with other local ministries such as Horizon Church. There we will train and disciple others through mentoring programs via the pre-natal center, working with kids’ events in the local parks, homeless ministry, and much more.

Lastly, outreach programs will include a Friday surf club for local kids/families, business workshop classes for the community, community impact initiative, and prayer initiative in town which provides business owners with a website for their customers to find them and intentional prayer over their business. Teams will help with each of these efforts as we pray to reach all of Jaco!

A Little bit about Jaco!

Jaco is known as a touristy beach town and for its great surf. It lies between several mountains and is neighbored by the beaches of Herradura Bay to the North, and Playa Hermosa to the South

Jaco is about 1hr and 45 mins southwest of San Jose, the capital city of Costa Rica. Making it the closest beach to San Jose.

How long will you be in Jaco?

Due to COVID shouting down many of the borders there are still so many unknowns. As of now, I will be in Jaco from 1 month – TDB

What are you most excited about being stationed in Jaco?

I’m super excited about all the different mission opportunities and getting to know my team better.

Also, as much as I love sleeping on the ground and taking ice-cold bucket showers. I’m not mad at the possibility of having actual showers and beds.??
