SHE ARRIVES IN COUNTRY ON THE 21ST OF THIS MONTH!!!!!
Our first official week of ministry is complete…
It was a long challenging week.
But I am so excited to see things grow here.
We started the week off by going to a brand new school on Monday morning and helping clean up to get ready for the first day of school which was the next day. We worked for a few hours and then returned home. Our school is a very small building, it has 3 different classes for different levels. Hallie and I are with the preschool kids. Monday night we had sports ministry, we played soccer for a few hours with a bunch of local kids.. It was really fun even though we are really bad!
The rest of the week was pretty similar to Tuesday. We woke up everyday and went to school, came home and had a few hour break and then went to sports ministry or walked around the neighborhood.
There is this one kid from my class whose name is Emma. Emma is my favorite kid I’ve ever met in my entire life. He is so sweet but also has a really hard time staying in the classroom for several hours so he acts up. I’ve spent alot of time with Emma this past week and really want to help him grow. He’s already done better throughout the week since the first day. If I had to guess I would say he’s about 4 or 5. I will add a picture below because I want everyone to see him. On Friday when I got to school he ran up and gave me a huge hug. (Keep Emma in your thoughts and prayers)
We met some pretty cool people that were from different places who were also staying with us but they have now gone on to new places or returned home so now it is just my team and one local guy named Dennis, I’ve gotten super close with Dennis and am super inspired by his heart for the kids! We only have 2 more weeks left in Zambia and then we are heading to Zimbabwe, its so crazy to think we’ve already been here almost 2 weeks. I love this place and its gonna be so sad to leave but I am super excited to watch things unfold from home.
