I think now is a good time to address the elephant in the room. $18,700. That’s a lot of money. That’s a lot of materialistic thinking. That’s a lot of negative thoughts that can get to me during fundraising. That’s a lot of Satan trying to pull me under. Want to know what is amazing about God’s work? He has turned that $ sign into one word for me, “reasons”.
I am now chasing 18,700 reasons to help people across the world, instead of having to raise $18,700. He has shaken me to the core and helped me with one of my struggles, idolizing money. I am very success driven, and for the longest time, success has been money for me while working in sales. There is nothing wrong with success. There is nothing wrong with having lots of money. There is something wrong with a $ sign being in the binoculars rather than His face. I wish I could say I got over this a long time ago, but it was today that He shifted those binoculars. I just lost my end of the year deal this morning that would have put me over 100% for 2017. I was pushing so hard and I had my mind set on one thing, money. He is slowly molding my mind to get me ready for what it is like out there across the nations. Idolizing money just took a back seat and reasons to help others was promoted to riding shotgun.
When I think about how much I will be changed from this mission work, it puts a smile on my face and a tear in my eye. One thing I have discovered is that it’s already underway, for us all. I keep thinking it doesn’t start until next August, but it started in September when I signed the dotted line. I hope God helps me heal the world. I also hope God helps me heal all of you. We all struggle with something and I want to be a tool that points you to the light. So far, you have helped me find 4,700 of those reasons to help people across the world and I am so grateful. You’re helping to change my life forever. I hope I can return the favor and give you all hope for things you struggle with.
