I can’t believe it, I’m going on the World Race! On 9/8/18 I’ll be leaving with a team of 55 college-aged students for a 9 month mission trip to Costa Rica, South Africa, Thailand, and Myanmar. We will be living out of two backpacks and partnering with local churches and ministries to serve others, share the Gospel and share the love of Christ to countless people across the world.
A little over a year ago my mother showed me the World Race promotional video and God used it to change my life. I had never considered participating in something as challenging as the World Race: fundraising $15,800, traveling across the world, being away from friends and family for 9 months, living out of two backpacks, living in other cultures, and ultimately learning to trust God with literally EVERYTHING I have.
Participating in this Gap Year trip not only gives me an opportunity to serve others and experience what God is doing across the world, but also the opportunity to grow in my relationship with Jesus before going to college and pursuing a career in ministry. This trip will be the greatest challenge I have ever experienced and I know God is going to use it to move in my life in ways greater than I could ever imagine.
