Today a group of us went back to the “slums” to evangelize and also to follow up on those we reached last week. Haley went to another ministry today so the pastor and I went out, just the two of us.
    Follow ups:
Priscilla was healed completely.  We prayed again for Evelyn. We prayed for many other things for them as well. The last home we visited last week, the brother and his sister who had never heard of the name of Jesus….she was the only one who visited the church on the following Sunday. We prayed for her daughter and we found out that the daughter was healed the same day we prayed for her. Caroline’s husband was healed in the hospital as well.
The pastor and I began to walk through the streets, going house to house sharing the gospel with anyone who would let us. For our first stop we visited a group of 3 women. One of the women was an elderly woman who was losing her sight and basically had become blind. I laid my hands on her eyes and prayed for her vision to be restored. When I finished praying, the woman looked at her hands and her face lit up. She spoke in Swahili to the pastor and the pastor relayed her words to me. She said “I can see.” And she believed that God would heal her even more throughout the day.
From there we entered many houses praying for anyone as they asked us. As we passed by a home, a mother came out and handed me her crying baby. She just simply handed him to me with a smile on her face. The baby instantly stopped crying. And that’s no credit to me. I’m terrified of those who are a few months old. As the baby was crying, I whispered to him, “In the name of Jesus, don’t cry. Don’t cry.”
As our time began to come to a close, a group of at least 15 children started to follow us. I took out my mandolin and played them a song. More and more children showed up as I was playing. The pastor then asked me if I would like to walk down the street and visit a school. So we made our way to the school.

If ever there was a day in which I wish I had my camera, this would have been the one. When we arrived at the school, the children were all lining the windows in their classrooms. Little hands were reaching out and waving to us. Some kids would hide behind the corner of the building, our eyes would meet and then they would run away laughing. Finally, the teachers all let their children out of class and they ran to the pastor and me. I played with them on the playground. We played a quick game of soccer, me against 40. Then we stopped so we could talk. I got down on one knee while all of them surrounded me. These kids are between the ages of 3 and 11. I played the mandolin for them as well. Before we left, a teacher came to the pastor and me and offered to show us around the facilities. So we walked through all of the classrooms, and through the kitchen and lunchroom. I wish I had pictures to show you.
