So this story starts back in May 2009. I had just graduated from UNC Wilmington and
I was moving back home. The plan was to
take a few weeks off and then hit the trail looking for a job. As I started looking for a job (along with
millions of other people) I had a hard
time finding anything. I had some
interviews, and every time I would go to one I would always pray that if it was
not the Lord’s will he would shut the door, and sure enough he kept shutting
the doors. In August, I got a job
selling cell phones. Praise the Lord! But
as I was working there, I began to feel very restless where I was. In late September, I was reminded of the
World Race, and as I began to read the blogs, I was captured by the things that
the racers were doing. So a few weeks
went by of daily reading blogs, and during this I just began to pray about
going. I prayed about from late
September to right before Christmas. I
had put a limit on myself for when the decision had to be made and as I
approached it, I honestly hadn’t heard anything concrete from the Lord. I felt like the Lord was calling me to go on
the world race, but I wasn’t absolutely positive. I believe that the Lord confirms what he
speaks in many ways and I believe that one of these ways is dreams, visions,
and prophetic words. So a few days
before my decision date, I had a dream, and in the dream I was directly told
that I needed to go on the world race. The
next morning I woke up  thinking about
this dream, I thought that it was the Lord answering my months of prayers with
a concrete answer, but I honestly still had a little doubt in the back of my
mind.  But the next day the Lord
confirmed that it was definitely Him! He
took me to Acts 16 where Paul has a similar experience with one of his dreams.  He discerns that it’s the Lord and then moves.  It was
like the Lord was saying, your dream was legit. Praise Him!
