Seems like people are always asking for money… especially those “Benjamins” 😉 On the Race, we are no exception to that rule, nor many people that we encounter.
Having to fundraise money for this mission trip journey can be exhausting, awkward, and exciting. Nobody really likes asking for money, but it’s something we’ve had to do in order to make this journey possible and bless others. What really makes it easier for us to ask people is the calling of God.
Jesus has brought us here and he wants to use us in a mighty way. He also uses you to bless us and support us in this calling! It’s really incredible. To those who have donated I say THANK YOU!!
Now, my teammate Melissa is in dire need of money to stay. She must raise $1,500 by Tuesday to stay with us. Before I go any further, I will just let her speak for herself. Below is the latest blog Melissa posted (she doesn’t know I’m posting this). I just simply ask to prayerfully consider supporting her…
My journey with fundraising for the World Race has proven to be an interesting one. I have managed to meet the first three of my financial deadlines. If I didn’t meet it on time, it was within the next week. Leading up to these dates, I found myself in a mild state of panic. I had no idea where the remaining funds would come from. I trusted God, and yet it still seemed impossible to me. Every time, He would come through. I could finally breathe freely again. I would try not focus on the significant amount I still needed. God has come through in a fantastic way in spite of anything I did, or didn’t do. I now find myself almost a month past our final deadline and still incredibly far away from meeting it, $4600 to be precise. I’m not even in this boat alone. Two of my squad mates, Jessica and Gloriel, have been pretty much in the same place. Deadlines would roll around, and us three tended to be at the back of the pack. We’d sit around, talk about the thousands of dollars we needed. We’d pray for each other, encourage each other and take a small amount of comfort that we weren’t alone. Seven months in, and almost the entire squad is fully funded. And then there’s me, Gloriel, and Jessica. We need around $4000 each. And we each face the same fate. If we are unable to raise the remaining amount, we’ll be on a plane back home sooner than we thought.
I need your help with this final push.
If you’ve read and been moved by my blogs…
If you believe in me and God’s call on my life…
If God has placed in your heart to donate…
Then pick a square. Below is a chart of numbers. If I get a donation for each amount listed, I will be fully funded. So please have a look and prayerfully consider supporting me. Let me know if you choose a number (or two, or three) so I can keep you updated on my progress. Help me clear the board. Help me stay on the race. Help me follow God’s leading for my life.
PS. Don’t forget to keep Gloriel and Jessica in yours prayers as well!
