G'day mates!

This month my team was placed in a little slice of paradise. The YWAM Darwin base is so beautiful – everything is open to the air, palm trees, tropical birds flying all around, a pool, and a constant breeze. My team and I have the privilege to serve with another team this month. Just to have seven more believers around pouring life and serving us is such a blessing. It is nice to have two more guys around to press into. Their names are Heith and Brian. They have been able to challenge me in some new ways, which has led me closer to Jesus. I Love working with another team.

For the most part we just work around the base and occasionally we go to a homeless shelter called Vinnies. The people there are amazing. We serve them by helping in the kitchen, yard work, cleaning, and picking cumin or lemon grass from their garden. I think we are also helping them with a fundraiser later this month.

The first Saturday of the month another team came over to hang out with us. Just being in the presence of their team was uplifting. We had a big pool party and then went down to the wharf for Kangaroo burgers.  The Roo burgers are not bad but a little tough. Later that night we had an amazing time of worship, prayer, and speaking life over one another. We were singing and I was praying to the Lord to break my heart for what breaks his. Just praying asking God to let me see what Jesus sees in other, which I to often overlook. After praying I looked up and I saw a couple sitting on their porch of their house listening to us. I immediately grabbed a teammate to pray with me for this couple. I had seen them in their yard this week but never did it occur to me to pray for them. Libby and I started to declare in Jesus name that our worship would echo in their ears. We prayed that Jesus would heal their spiritually blind eyes and they would be able to see the hope in Christ. Please join me in praying for this family. Pray for a divine appointment and some interaction with them and that our worship planted a seed.

Too often we as Christians compartmentalize work, study, or leisure activities into one category  and worship, ministry or evangelism in another category. The Lord is teaching me so much about worshiping in the mundane and seeing opportunity to love others and to just be the church. I am going to write an entire blog about this topic. So to be continued…

I am so excited about the week to come. I feel so refreshed. After being in Malaysia where we were unable to worship openly in a corporate setting, it was refreshing to join with other believers as we worshiped and sang praise to our Father in heaven.

Thanks for reading and keeping up with me in Australia.

I will leave you with some Aussie Lingo:

Rack off – your presence is no longer required
Fair dinkum – Of course I'm telling the truth
Bloody oath! – I am totally in agreement with you
Go On- I am not entirely convinced you know what you're talking about
Howya going?- May I enquire about your welfare

We serve such a creative God who loves us so much! Here is his art work!
