Is this REAL, I HAVE AFRICAN FEVER!!!

5-18-12

So we arrived in Africa,

I am in Africa,

I am living in Africa…….are you getting my point???

I WAKE UP IN AFRICA!!!

I never thought that this would happen so soon in my life or at all for that matter. My life plans and what I thought would be plausible in the next 5 to 10 years of my life, I did not see this as even an option.

The only things I really knew about Africa are what most Americans know. Its poor, no clean water, not enough food, they ALL need help, and if your a real missionary you go here at least once in your life. Africa is a land not any people in my family have seen or visited so am I am super lucky? or crazy? or how about…..

Plain and Simple

There is more to AFRICA THAN YOU KNOW!!!

Maputo, Mozambique is so wonderful as one would think so far. We live and work with the founder of the ministry "Beacon of Hope". Angie is Awesome and Legit and a really busy lady. She runs this ministry almost completely by herself. So stress in here life is an everyday kinda thing and that is why we are all here.

There are 10 boys that B.O.H. sponsors throughout the year. They are chosen to live, serve, learn, and grow on the property. Angie does not baby her boys, she empowers them with the tools they need and the experience they want to have to go become the next generation of leaders for Mozambique.

It is a small ministry but this place is thriving with growth and new seeds are being planted everyday (really we have been working in the garden).

The boys or Men of B.O.H. are tremendous to work with and also learn with. They are the first Africans we have gotten the pleasure of knowing personally. We all live together on the same property and learn together as well.

Hard work in the garden in a must in the morning. So is prayer, scripture, water duty, cooking and cleaning. But the afternoons are the best because it includes the English lessons and math and of course, Soccer (futbol)!

Our days here have been broken down into 3 parts.

1.) Morning yard work and Garden Duties.

2.) After lunch English Class and Math Class (our teams teach both).

3.) And the best part of most of our day……Jesus Time!

We have not had a ministry opportunity with so much scheduled time for personal growth and prayer. This is a complete change and blessing from the business of Moldova University English Club.

I love the quiet times we get and because we only get internet twice a week I am not as distracted as I have been before.

We have a tree

Yes a tree, my Eno Hammock and myself.

I lay under the protection of this tree from the hot sun and read.

Crazy Love By: Francis Chan

and more

I know this place is going to be a specific place of growth and vision. The vision and growth all according to the amazing and complex design of our loving and compassionate father.

Jesus

It feels like I am getting to know Jesus all over again in so many new and amazing ways. His plans for my life, his ways, his direction, his passion, and his LOVE!

I try and pray and pray some more to understand his NEVER-ENDING LOVE and DESIRE for our lives. Africa is a place where the roots run long and deep. The land is covered in wise and rich soil. The people here know the reality of the spiritual battle that rages on ever single day. But there can only ever be one victory. I'm very glad that I have chosen the winning side. But our price and victory will not be won here in this world my friends.

In Heaven our new life awaits.

In Heaven Jesus awaits us.

PLEASE continue to pray for our teams support last deadline and mine.

July 1st and I only have 2,500 left to be fully funded!
