The Philippines is awesome! I love how nice the people are and how beautiful it is! I could do without the heat but it isn’t always so bad. Since my last post I have done some amazing things and have tried some really cool and weird things.
On monday we went to the falls. The falls are really beautiful water falls in the area. They were about 40-50 feet tall and there are rivers and it was just a really cool time. We couldnt jump from the 50 foot falls but we could from the 15 foot falls. It was the perfect height to where its scary at first but then its not bad at all.
Next on my list is that I have tried chicken head and chicken intestine. The head was ok, not to much different taste than the feet except for when you slurp out the brain or pop an eyeball in ur mouth. Those were the little differences haha!! The intestine was sick. I didn’t like that at all, it tasted like poop! Granted, I haven’t ever had poop before but if I could have a guess what it would taste like it would be that.
We also have done out reaches and met some really great kids and people. We teach the kids songs and laugh and dance and feed them and everything. Also, Isaac and I had the privilege of going to the mens jail with pastor Mike. We both shared our testimonies. The night before I really had a hard night with some stuff of my past and everything so i was really praying that god will use my testimony to touch someone in the room. After I shared it, a guy that was crying in the crowd came up to me and said that he was crying because his story and mine were very similar and he has also lost a mentor and best friend in his life. He wanted to share more but he was tearing up and didn’t want to cry so he walked away. God listened to my prayer and put him in there for me. Someone that I could relate too. Someone who might know a little bit of what I am going through. I would really like to talk to him more.
Also, I have felt really different than people and can’t rally connect to well to my team mates. Thats not a horrible thing, we are all just very different and Im very different than them. Also, I wanted to try and get good at something and minister to people who are like me and different than others. So i went out and bought a skate board today. As I was coming home to write this, three guys my age came up to me and asked me where I skate. I told them that I’m new and have no place and just started up agin today. Then they invited me to come and skate with them tonight at the one skate spot that is sorta close by.
On the way there I asked more about them and learned that they are a group of awesome guys. One of them was a body builder and might continue with it like me. We talked about the weight loss and everything and it was so awesome talking to someone in person who actually understands how hard it is to see all the muscle that you worked so hard for, just fizzle away! His brother knew how to skate very well so he really took the time to teach me when we got to the spot. After like 10 to 20 minutes I look up from my board and there are like 15-20 guys all over video taping and skating and having a good time. These weren’t and aren’t the typical people that they would think a Christian would hangout with because they are Muslims. They also smoke and cuss and are just different than the people I have been living with for a while. But those are the type of people that I feel most at home with when Im around them. It really was an awesome night and God might not speak to me very much but he definitely has been listening to me. That really helps me out!
The next time Ill blog Ill hopefully tell you all about the volcano that we are hopefully going to on Monday or Tuesday. The last volcano that I visited erupted 3 days after, Im really hoping that that doesn’t happen again! Keep praying, because Gods listening! talk to ya later!
