We are newlyweds. I know that
's a weird thing to say first off, but it explains a lot about who we are and what we are doing with our lives right now. Last September, we got married after being together for almost three years. We live in Atlanta, GA right now, because I am finishing up my college degree at Georgia Tech. At this point in our lives, we have no idea where we will end up when we get back. This is really exciting and really scary at the same time.
I thought it would be nice if I shared a little about my husband first. Ty is foremost a very passionate person; if he likes something he will be so excited about it that it will make you want to buy into it. I love this part abou
t him. It makes life constantly an adventure and it keeps me on my toes. We met at a Strong Rock Camp as counselors and I soon learned how much he loved the outdoors. That summer we worked the rock climbing wall together much to his dismay (apparently I didn't know how to manage to belay properly at first), but he soon decided that having me around wasn't so bad, because he took me on our first date that summer going rock climbing on Mt. Yonah. That next fall he left to spend his semester in Patagonia, a mountain range in Southern Chile. He got his undergrad degree in Outdoor Recreation at Berry College, but I have a feeling that he will be that old man with all the random stories about jobs he had one day (he has already had four since he graduated in 2009). Ty is also very loyal and very persuasive (probably due to all that passion). When my friends tell me they want help on what to buy when it comes to outdoor gear, I always tell them to go to Ty. He knows all about the best things and can tell you exactly what you need, but I have to warn them, because he can persuade me to buy anything–and I'm spending his money. As much as he knows what can help, he also is very persuasive at what he knows. He obviously sold himself to me…because I have a ring on my finger and that was not in my plan before graduating college.
So my wife Molly. What is there to say? She is quite simply amazing (rumor has it, I'm complet
ely biased). Seriously, Molly is currently finishing up her bachelors degree at Georgia Tech and she is majoring in Civil engineering. Yes, she is way smarter than me. Molly, is an amazingly compassionate person. When she looks around our house, she can always find something to give away or use to help others. When she hears of injustice, you can be sure that she will be doing anything and everything to put an end to it if she can. She loves to volunteer at the local women's shelter and is also extremely God loving and fearing. She has so much strength and foundation in Christ that there is never any doubt that He is the center of who she is. Luckily, I know I'm right there behind Him to her as well. Molly is truly an amazing wife. Imagine. She spends all day at school and she still always has time to keep up with our house and me (poor girl). She loves cooking and she loves entertaining. If it was up to Molly, we would have an open door and just random friends and family in all day long. Finally, I thought I would give a few tips on my wife, If you ask her something, be ready for the answer. Molly is the best example of how love can be brutally honest. She tells you how it is and I think it's awesome (most of the time). Also, please don't waste goods around Molly. If it can be recycled, used to benefit someone, or kept from sitting on a shelf, by all means, she would encourage you to do so.
