Have you ever felt like you were in a war? a battle with the world around you? Ever since we decided to go on the race, we've been hit over and over again with things like the vespa breaking down and Ty's work being slow. Although we both feel like we are in the midst of spiritual warfare, we want to let you know how we are succeeding. I finished my last summer semester head strong. Ty's work , Atlanta Rigging Systems told him last Friday that they did not have any work for him until the end of Semptember, but this week Ty has been able to work for High Country two days and was able to help his mom at Lovin Knit. It has been great for work to be provided even if it is not as abundant as we would like.
Last week we were able to get a break and go down to Ponte Verde, FL. It was beautifu!! We stayed in a condo right on the beachside. It was a great week for us to be able to hang out with each other, to relax, and to destress in order to be ready for the coming months. It was such a blessing to be able to rest.
This week Sam, a dear friend from camp, was in town and we were able to meet with him for breakfast. He is such an encouraging friend as well as a passionate follower of Christ. As much as the beach was great for relaxing, Sam's words and prayer were rest for the soul. Some people just know how to touch your inner self–Sam is one of those people. He calls the Spirit of God inside of you to come alive. During our visit, Sam was talking about the Hebrew language. He has been studying it and described it as a language that speaks to the soul. For instance, he said in the hebrew language the word for bed would be simular to saying a place of rest. Although we call it a bed, this language allows the hearer to only understand the word if they have experienced it. I want to be able to speak to people's souls. After hanging out with Sam, it was almost as if my soul had just been awakened from a deep slumber. I want to be the person that lives by the Spirit inside not by the flesh.
This verse was spoken to us this week and I just wanted to share it. James 4: 1 says "What causes quarrels and fights among you? Don't you know they come from desires that battle within you?"
