Do you enjoy the rain? It's raining here today and I have always held a great love for the rain. It's funny; I was just journaling how happy I was when I see rain, when I saw that my friend Christine posted a new blog. When I read, "Everywhere you look it seems God's creation is desperately searching for water," it hit me why rain is so refreshing. Water is a need that all of creation must have from the flowers to humans. How beautiful the rain is. It is water from heaven pouring down to the Earth to quench the thirst of Creation. No wonder I think it's so cool! I need it. And what hits me more is while water is so essential to life, there are people in the world that do not have access to it or rather they do not have access to clean water.

My friend, Christine, is interning with Samaritan's Purse right now in Sudan. Her office is working to bring water to the people of South Sudan. It's a beautiful picture. These people who need water are being helped by organizations to receive the very thing their bodies long for. (For more information on what Samaritan's Purse is doing click here.

I think it's wonderful that Jesus called himself the Living Water. What better picture could he have placed in our minds of being fully quenched? That's what I feel like when I have been in the presence of the Lord–my soul feels quenched. That's why I continually seek to know Him better. He fulfills my deepest need, my thirst to be loved, safe, and accepted. My relationship with Christ makes me feel fully satisfied with life. Have you been quenched of your thirst?
