Blessed.
This month, I’ve have the blessing of doing a special ministry. I kind of consider it my ‘secret mission’… although, it isn’t so secret. So we’ll go with special. It definitely is special 
When we(Kylie, Lauren, and myself) were asked to do this ministry, I wasn’t sure what to expect. A larger group had gone to put on a puppet show and clown act a few days earlier. They described the kids as uninterested and shy. All we had planned was a handful of games and a song or two. I was nervous.
The name of the area is called Brosteni(pronounced Bro-shten). Gabby and his wife Anna live with their two sons Richard and Tony on the edge of a neighborhood that is home to some very poor families. As you pull up to their home, you see a large front yard full of kids ready to play and praise Jesus. The upstairs of their home has been made into another area to color, sing, learn, and just hang out. Anna jokingly tells me that she doesn’t just have two children… she has atleast twelve!
The kids range in age from 5 to 15 so we kind of have to come up with things that all of them will be able to participate in. The littlest girl, Mihaela(pronounced mee-hi-la) is so cute. We can’t get over it. These kids are BEAUTIFUL. They have so much energy and life! God loves each one of them so much and has a plan for their lives. We want them to know it!

For our first week, we didn’t have much planned. It was more or less testing out the waters. Our expectations were beyond exceeded. The kids have an eagerness to listen and learn. First we played Red Light Green Light. Most of them nailed it. Then we played Red Rover. A little bit too rough. What Time is it, Mr. Fox? Again and again. London Bridges. Their favorite!

Before we knew it, it was 6pm. Time to go home.
God is growing my heart for this ministry. I think that most of us can remember our neighborhood ‘gang’ as a child. These kids have something so good here. It is my prayer that we can come alongside Gabby and Anna this month and encourage their ministry. This ministry is POWERFUL and EFFECTIVE. These kids are SO BLESSED by this family as they open their hearts and home for them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I am so honored to be a part of this VERY SPECIAL mission.
