Becca's Blog:

This morning, I woke up to my life.  I’ve forgotten that I’m on a “missions” trip.  My life IS a mission.  What is my purpose?  To tell the world of Christ’s love.  Not just any love.  CHRIST’S love.

“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!And that is what we are!  The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” – 1 John 3:1

Where do we even live?  We’ve come to the realization that we no longer have a home.  When we stepped into this inheritance, the whole world became a foreign place.

“As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.” – John 15:19

“My kingdom is not of this world.” – John 18:36

“For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.” – 1 Timothy 6:7

aliens and strangers in the world” – 1 Peter 2:11

“for everyone born of God overcomes the world.  This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.  Who is it that overcomes the world?  Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” – 1 John 5:4-5

I look out the window at the passing clouds.  The trees have lost their leaves and stand barren in the mid-November air.  A few birds come and go, scavenging for any food remaining on the branches.  The sun appears and then hides again.

If you haven’t caught on yet, (or, what I’m trying to say), is that this world is temporary, but the love of God is forever.  We are merely visitors to this world, yet we have such an important message to not only tell others about but to radically live out every day of our lives.  It’s taken traveling halfway around the world for me to realize this!  Although there are MANY reasons to abandon your everyday life and go on a crazy journey to learn what God’s Kingdom looks like, you can start sharing Christ’s love with others TODAY, wherever you may be in life.   Consider every day a mission.  It’s worth it.

“The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.” – 1 John 2:17
