When we got off the bus at CICRIN orphanage on Ometepe Island, Nicaragua, my heart began to melt as several small children approached us and gave us each hugs to welcome us "home" for the month.

The children here are beautiful.  One night Ty told me that he was really sad because the little girl, Julieta, he wants to adopt is already being adopted.  God is showing me more and more Ty's heart as a father.  (It makes me crazy for him, I have to admit.. 🙂 )  He gets all giggly and just smiles as he plays pattycake with the little girls. They love him and always have to point out his "esposa" (me 🙂 ).

Four little boys live across from our door.  They are the littlest boys on the property.  The smallest one(age 5) and I have a special friendship.  When we get on the bus, he won't let anyone else sit with him.  When I get on, he screams, 'Rebecca!' and motions for me to sit down.

We love these kids so much, and they make the inconveniences of living on an island(rice and beans for EVERY meal, random meat for dinner – chicken livers and hearts, whole fish, soy product,  limited internet, bugs EVERYWHERE, constant heat, etc) totally worth it

We love it.
