Heya there friends! It’s been almost exactly a year since my first announcement blog, and it’s time I tell you all about what I’m doing after the Race!
Recently I’ve been accepted into a program called CGA(Center for Global Action) that is run by AIM, the organization that runs the Race. CGA is a 5 month discipleship program that takes place after you get off the Race. The program is located in Gainsville, GA, as this is where the AIM offices are. I will be living in a community house with other men that have also come off of the Race at one point or another. I have been accepted into the field leadership track, so I will be learning about what it looks like to lead a team out in the field, and really hone all the things that I have learned on the Race.
So what will I actually be doing at CGA? Well that’s a great question! On Monday’s I will have class all day at the AIM offices, as well as some community time in there. Tuesday through Friday, I will have class from 9 to noon, and in the afternoons I am required to have a part-time job, all so that I can pour back out into the community. This just a rough schedule that I have received, but it’s all I have to share!
I just want to take a second to explain the why behind my decision to take another year off of school and pursue this program. So CGA has been something that has been on my heart since the very first month of the Race. From October to February, where I actually applied, God has just put countless amounts of confirmation in my life. Whether it has been in my own seeking of the Lord, or from things that I have heard from other people, this is where I feel the Lord is calling me after the Race. This program really encourages a lot of the ideals that I have picked up over the course of my Race, and the idea of living in a God centered community is just so pleasing to my soul. I see this place as an opportunity to have the Lord continue to impact me in radical ways, as well as a place where I can be poured into by other strong Christians. There isn’t a doubt in my mind that this is the place where the Lord is calling me.
Here’s the part that you have been probably been expecting, I need your help again. Along with being accepted into this program comes the process of fundraising. My total goal for my fundraising is $5,905, and I would like to be fully funded by the time I start. I leave for Georgia in October, so we have tons of time! Your support will be going to my housing, food, classes, and an assortment of other little things. Please take some time and pray over donating to me once again! You can either give a one-time donation, or with the start date being so far, give monthly! All of this can be done through the donate button at the top of my blog! Please take some time to prayerfully consider my request! I just also want to say a quick thank you to all of you for even giving me the opportunity to be on the Race in the first place, it means the world to me that I even rallied enough support to get here. Thank you all so much!
Love and blessings,
Tucker Stevens
