Good evening supporters,

I will be flying to Atlanta, Georgia in 8 days (Jan 12th). That would mark the official start of our launch and our adventure with the World Race. I want to write a few words to reflect on what Jesus has done for me since returning from training camp and express some of the anticipation in my heart before launch.

I will start with my supporters. Since returning from training camp in early November, I’ve spent a large amount of time and energy towards raising funds and support for this trip. I will admit that the experience has been extremely humbling and very rewarding. Throughout the process of many phone calls and visiting, I was able to raise to date, roughly 80% of the funding needed for this adventure. I give all praise and glory to God, and I thank all that responded to His calling to support our team and our mission on the World Race.

I have been officially un-employed since returning from training camp, which allowed for a time of restoration and growth before embarking on this 11 month journey.  Jesus kept my schedule full through visiting friends & supporters, reading, and serving in various ways such as youth events, outreach ministries, volunteer work, etc.

I’m currently reading about the history of the Church and learning a lot about how the church of Christ evolved after Jesus’ victory on the cross and his ascension into heaven. It’s interesting to see how some of the trials and tribulation of the 1st century church are still evident in the modern day church today. I also find it interesting and inspiring how the church was able to persevere through numerous internal and external threats. A lot can be learned through the history and evolution of the universal church of Jesus Christ.

One thing God has been revealing to me in this season is learning to trust His voice and to respond in obedience . There’s freedom in obedience. He continues to remind me that the world has nothing to offer when you compare it to His presence and the privilege of knowing and serving Him.

The book of John is one of my favorite books in the Bible and I’ve been going through it once again this week. I get excited when I read verses such as John 10:27 where Jesus says “my sheep hear my  voice, and I know them, and they follow me. Or in John 12:45 where Jesus says “Whoever sees me, sees Him who sent me. I hope you (yes you) realize that you are one of Gods sheep and you are called to listen to His voice and follow Him. Such an honor !

With the holiday season coming to an end, it’s time start saying my goodbyes and start preparing for launch. It’s amazing how much peace God has given me throughout the whole process and I hope and pray that my fellow racers are experiencing the same thing. I don’t struggle with what I’m leaving behind, I’m embracing what lies ahead. The best part is that i’m taking Him with me   for “better is one day in His courts then a thousand elsewhere” Psalm 84:10.

Please be praying for our squad and myself as we count the days till launch. Pray that the peace of God would be upon us and that we would be embracing the challenge/journey before us. I pray that the Holy Spirit would be bringing you closer to Him and is revealing His heart for you and for all creation as you follow us on this adventure.

I  want to thank you for taking the time to read my blog and for your support.

May the Lord bless you and keep you;may the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;may the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
