Hey friends !

Time for another blog post ! Sorry for the delay (again). I have lots to share and i’m sure that I won’t be able to squeeze it all into this blog post, but I will do my best to update you on the excitement that has been going on in my life recently and also on my support raising progress for the World Race.

In that order I will begin. I believe the last blog post I wrote was nearly two months ago (again my apologies). Since then I have experienced some big changes regarding my everyday schedule, mainly due to changes at work.

In August I made a total of 315 hours at work … so that pretty much sums up my August. Thankfully that hard work paid off and the cows were moved into the new robotic milking facility and quickly began to adapt to the new environment. It was a long but very rewarding road, and i’m thankful I had the opportunity to be a part of the new barn project. It’s amazing how Gods perfect timing is so much better then our own. Thank you to the Greydanus family for being great employers and blessing me in many ways throughout the past two years !

The robotic milkers have really freed up my work schedule. I began to experience/enjoy the more flexible work hours in September, and Jesus began to reveal how He wants to use me throughout the fall, leading up to my trip in January. I believe I am entering a season of fundamental growth in my relationship with God and the ministry He has called me to. Very excited.

God has laid it on my heart to start connecting with youth/young adult groups throughout the area and encourage them in their faith and everyday walk with Jesus. If you or someone you know would like to hear the testimony of Gods grace in my life and be encouraged in their faith, then I encourage you to contact me through my blog, or through Facebook, or through my email – [email protected]  .

I also plan to stay involved in the community by volunteering at Youth for Christ Drop-in and also by being active in the local church.

I had the opportunity to join my friend Josh Shantz and his cousin Vanessa, for a week of ministry in Lacombe, Alberta. It was a rewarding week and a nice change from an everyday week at work on the farm. Possibly a taste of what my year will look like on the World Race !

The most exciting part of the trip for me was travelling back home. A few months ago, God laid it on my heart to hitchhike throughout our country. When Josh asked me to join him on this trip, I knew that this was my opportunity to take a step of faith and become a hitchhiker for the week ! Sure enough, at 1pm on Monday October 2nd, I headed east on Highway 12 and began my journey.

Overall it was great experience. I met some incredible people, seen a sliver of our beautiful country, and took another step of faith onto the waters that Jesus calls us to boldly walk upon in Matthew 14:27-29.

But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”             “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”             “Come,” he said.

Jesus calls us all to step out of the boat of “everyday comfort” and step out in faith and meet him on the water where he stands. This doesn’t mean we all need to hitchhike across the country and preach the gospel. It also doesn’t mean we can sit and idle and hide in the world till He returns. It means we need to be putting our trust in God and seeking His will for our lives, not our own will. That is where we find the life that Jesus promises to be. By abandoning the fake pleasures of the world, and surrendering your life to the King of Kings. Jesus doesn’t want a part of our lives – he wants the whole thing!

Mark 8:36 What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?

Moving on

Fundraising is underway. To date I’ve raised $5799.00 USD or 31% of my funds. I’m very grateful for the support and encouragement that I have received so far, but I still have a long ways to go. I will be honest, I contributed just over $5000 CDN of the $5799 USD and my goal is to find support for the remaining 70%.

My goal is to contribute more time and energy into fundraising these next couple of months and build my support team before departing in January. If you are interested in supporting me financially and/or as a prayer partner, then I encourage you to check out my Fundraising blog and contact me through one of the above methods.

I have a 10 day training camp in Atlanta, Georgia next week (October 18th). Please be praying that I can enter the USA without delays and that our team can establish a strong bond that will persevere throughout our 11 months together. Pray that we can equip each other and build strong roots as sisters & brothers in Christ. Pray that we continue to diligently seek the face of our Creator and be guided in His wisdom to accomplish the task(s) set before us. Know that your prayers are heard and your prayers are effective. Thank you for praying !

Thank you to my supporters and thank you for taking the time to read this blog post. I hope to connect again soon. May the peace of God be with you all.

Love & Blessings from your brother in Christ,

Tristan
