Hello friends,
Jesus is alive. He’s defeated sin and death through death on the cross. 3 days later He walked out of the grave that He was placed in. He ascended to His rightful throne in heaven. He sent Holy Spirit to empower belivers. He’s been busy healing and reconciling people to the Father since.
Here is a short testimony of His unfinished work in Nepal.
At age 11 a young boy was attacked by evil spirits that would constantly torment him and throw him into fits of uncontrolled rage and anger. He would go on wild tangents and would have no control of where the spirits led him. As He grew older the spirits would sometimes lead him into the city where he would be beaten and abused to near death. Many times he would end up being arrested and placed in chains for multiple days till the spirits left him.
The boys mother (a widow at the time) brought him throughout the country to the best medical facilities to get a diagnosis and a cure for this “disorder”. They would spend much of their minimal income on meds and different possible solutions, anything to set the boy free.
Coming from a Hindu faith, they were open to try any form of healing. But nothing was working. Until one day they were invited to attend a church service and experience the healing power of Jesus. They received prayer from the church and they received Jesus in their hearts. The man was healed and the evil spirits had no power over him anymore because the Spirit of almighty God had taken their place. Hallelujah!
We had the opportunity to visit this man and hear his testimony of Gods grace. He and his mother have now been following Christ for over 10 years. We had the privilege to pray with them and encourage their community (see pictures below).
In the bible we read of a very similar encounter where Jesus heals a man that is possesed by evil spirits (see Mark 5:1-20).
Through this testimony I want you to realise that the spiritual realm is very real and that we are called to join the battle. The good news is that if we choose to fight for Christ, that the battle has already been won. Hallelujah!
“When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and finding none it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order. Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there. And the last state of that person is worse than the first.”
Luke 11:24?-?26
(the Holy Spirit needs to take its place)
The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
Luke 10:17?-?20
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,
