A few weeks ago my church asked if I would be willing to help with the worship side of Vacation Bible School. For those of you that know me, you know I’m not the best kid person. I love them, but I don’t always know how to interact with them. Also, being an introvert means I have no desire to dance on the stage and act like a goof.
…but in that moment I realized the next year of my life will be spent outside of my comfort zone so I should go ahead and start now!
After our first night of VBS I walked off the stage and said to the rest of the band, “that was so much fun! I forgot that worship is meant to be fun!” During a program intended for Kids, God showed me what worship was supposed to look like. He wants us to have fun! There is nothing I love more than to see the people around me having a good time and laughing. I can only imagine that is how God feels when he looks down at his children that are full of joy.
Worship isn’t just something we do on Sunday mornings or a jam session we have in the car to the newest Bethel CD. Worship is anything that brings God glory! Using the gifts we have to give back to him or telling him how thankful we are for an incredible sunset he painted. So thank you, VBS for showing me how I should worship, and thank you Jesus for opening my eyes!
I also want to thank all of you that have so generously supported me! You have no idea how much it has blessed me! I cannot wait to take each of you with me on this Kingdom building journey.
