This past month my whole squad was at Mission of Hope in Titanyen, Haiti. It’s an incredible organization that has big visions for what God is already doing in Haiti. It was fun to be at and organization that brought short term teams in while we were there. Each week we got to work along side a new group of people and serve them.

For the most part, we spent the month doing village time each day. We would go into the villages that MOH had already started working in and we would get to know the community and spend our afternoons playing with the kids. Part of our time was spent gathering information for MOH to help them know who lived in each house, their overall health, and if they had a relationship with Jesus.

It was also my birthday month! So, I’ve started this “small prayer movement” within my squad where we ask Jesus for little things and then watch as he makes things happen. I went to bed the day before my birthday and asked Jesus for my team to do construction of any kind for my birthday. I really love to paint and wouldn’t even mind building something. I thought it was a stretch since no one had done any construction at that point.

The next morning I woke up to “Happy Birthday’s” from my squad and my team even surprised me with cupcakes and gifts. Britt then came over to us to tell us what we would be doing that day. She said we were given the option to paint in the village and that she decided that’s what we should do. HEY JESUS! So cool that he knows our desires and let me do one of my favorite ministries for my 26th birthday. My favorite part was having an all out worship session with my team as we painted in the middle of a village. Jesus is cool that way. We don’t have to go places preaching the gospel, but we can bring his spirit with us wherever we go. I was incredibly blessed by my team and squad that day. It was by far my favorite birthday yet!

We were also blessed to have an incredible valentines day dinner that the men of O squad put together for us. They had dinner prepared for us, escorted us to our seats, and even wrote us special notes. There was a hilarious skit and song written for us that I will share when I get my monthly video done.

Overall, Haiti was an incredible country that I was surprised to fall in love with. God taught me so much about relying on him and letting others serve me.

I’m sorry for the delay in blogs! Last month we had to pay a lot for internet so I decided not to use it much. Hopefully this month will be better 🙂

Thanks for you prayers and support!!
