If you know me decently, you know that my life is consistently random and overwhelmingly awkward most of the time. I love it. Well, the World Race has made my life even more random. The situations I find myself in are fairly ridiculous. On any given day we might be trying to raise a dead lady, deforesting a rainforest, singing songs with orphans, or slumming around the house of some guy that practically runs the FIFA organization. You get the picture. This weekend was so random. We were dropped off to serve with a church. We were split up into twos and stayed with random families from the church. Kelly and I were lucky enough to stay with an amazing family. The dad was a coordinator for FIFA so he had World Cup soccer stuff all over his house. Crazy. So Friday we end up at the church doing a healing service. So there we were praying over people for healing. Saturday, we were woken up and rushed around…ending up at ministry working with Hindus and then rushed to a random Indian wedding. It was an arranged marriage, so that was interesting and pretty sad. The wedding was nuts though and we laughed so much. At the reception we were seated at the table of honor. We were served food (everyone else had to wait in line), we sat right next to the bride and groom, and the videographer and photographers took our picture the whole time. lol it was hilarious. We had no idea what was going on. Here we are in a family photo. It’s Maybe its a stretch, but I think the groom looks like an Indian version of the early Michael Jackson…decide for yourself. Sunday, we spoke at churches in full Indian attire, learned how to eat with our hands off a banana leaf, did some worship with a group of Indians, and then went to eat with a wealthy family at this crazy restaurant. I ended up dancing to Thriller and other MJ classics with this crazy family the whole night as we ate awful ice cream sundaes that had jello, kidney beans and corn in them. Oh I forgot to mention that before we went to eat we stopped at the royal Malaysian palace and took pictures with the guards. Yes, that guard next to me was getting a little too friendly.
So yah, it’s just a big jumble of randomness and as I sit exhausted on my bunk at this Malaysian orphanage, I can’t help but laugh about where God has been taking us in life.
