I haven’t blogged in a while, and I don’t think I have ever written a blog on pre-race happenings, so here you go!
With the help of some WONDERFUL supporters I have slowly been able to acquire some of the gear I need. My first official gear purchase was an Osprey Aether 75 pack which I will live out of for 11 months. The second big purchase was a Marlot Aeolos 2 person tent that Emma helped me get at the REI “dent and ding” sale. It’s rain fly was sticky all over (which was why it was an awesome price) and in my thoughtless quick attempt to clean it (dunking it in a bucket of commercial degreaser I had) I destroyed it. I am praying I will be able to buy just a rain fly from Marmot and that it won’t cost as much as a new tent!
God is daily making me aware of my idols and is helping me through them. Just reading that sentence makes it seem so…sterile…but it has honestly been a wrecking process with my flesh fighting back tooth and nail. It hurts a lot, but it is so so good to feel God working and sanctifying me every day. Sometimes it only feels good in hindsight, but at least it happens at all right?
I am juggling between three jobs until I leave in January (which really isn’t as bad as it sounds). They are all pretty flexible and I still have a ton of freedom in my schedule, so that is good.
I have to move out of my house at the end of November and don’t really know where I am going to live for my last month in the U.S. before I leave. I have a lot of really awesome friends so I am hoping someone will open their home to me!
If you want to pray for specific things for me here are a few:
- That God will continue to make me who he wants me to be
- That I will have peace and comfort in the midst of spiritual warfare. Pray for our whole team on this note, in this process of preparation the enemy has been trying to take us down HARD.
- That God would break people’s hearts to help support both myself and the team going so we will be able to follow his calling without worrying about finances.
