Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to check out my World Race blog! In this post, I’m going to be talking a little bit about what God has done in my life recently and what He is calling me to do next year. With that being said, I’d like to share a scripture before I start that has been kind of a cornerstone in my life this last year:
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.” – Mark 8:34-35
Around this time last year, this verse was not a part of my life. I would go through out my day just living for myself. Every week was the same thing, waiting for the weekends trying to get through. Then, as my junior year started to approach I began to feel God convicting me of my lifestyle. I fought it for a while until I no longer could resist. I deceided I should start to work on building a better relationship with Jesus and began to get more involved. As I grew closer to God, the more I saw myself being less and less like the person I was before. In Feburary of 2017 I re-dedicated my life to Christ. With this new found relationship, God was able to teach and reveal to me so many things that I was clueless about. The verse in Mark above is a prime example. I no longer live for myself, but I deny myself in order to follow Jesus. I am so thankful that He called me out of the darkness and back into the light.
Now, I believe in living out this verse in any way that God calls me to. So with that being said I am excited to announce that I will be going on the World Race Gap Year 2018-2019! The World Race, a part of Adventures in Missions, is a 9 month long mission trip across three different continents. We will be going to Costa Rica, South Africa, Thailand, and Myanmar to share the gospel with the least of these. This journey is going to be filled with so many opportunities to grow in my relationship with the Lord as well as help others grow with me. I cannot wait for God to use me to further His kindom on this earth and to spread the love of Jesus Christ to the broken.
Ways You Can Help:
Prayer
This is probably the most important way that you can help me.These next months of my life, I will most definately need some prayer. As I go through experiences that I have never been through, challenges, brokeness, or happiness I will need your prayer support through it all.
Financial Support
I will be doing a lot of fundraising to provide for my trip, and any amount donation that you give is greatly appreciated. All funds raised will be used for our ministry throughout the nine months. Keep an eye out for different fundraisers that I will be doing in the next couple months.
Thank you,
-Trevor Pierce
