I was born and raised in Rockford, IL a city about 90 miles Northwest of Chicago, IL. For the past three years I lived and worked in North Carolina as an Athletic Trainer. I recently returned home from North Carolina after a difficult year, both spiritually and personally. I was feeling such a lack of community and not sure what my next step should be. I do know that God has been with me all along, showing me His love and growing in me a desire to serve. That desire began ten years ago when my family and I started serving with Mission Emanuel in some of the poorest areas outside of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Those short-term mission trips opened my eyes to how God is working in some of the least likely places and people, and how much I wanted to be a part of what He is doing.

When I moved to North Carolina, I worked as an Athletic Trainer with student athletes of all ages. I loved the impact I was able to have on them, especially with the students at a rural, low-income high school. God was continuing to show me how broken the world is and how much people, including myself, need to experience His love. While wrestling with some tough things this past year, I sensed the Lord was calling me to completely trust Him — which brought me to the biggest step of faith I have ever taken.

In the next three months I will be working and preparing for the World Race. This is a very recent decision and I have a lot to do — beginning with buying a tent and backpack before training camp.

As for some details about me. I’m 24 years old. I love playing and watching all sports, cooking and eating what I cook, playing board games, video games, hiking, biking, playing guitar and drums for no one other than myself, and spending time with friends and family.
