This month we have been working with an organization called Remember Nhu. This organization is amazing! Instead of taking women out of the sex trafficking industry and trying to restore their lives, they prevent young girls from ever going into this industry. Remember Nhu builds homes all across the world in many different countries and raise young girls to be women of God. They provide shelter, food, education, everything! At this moment they have 7 homes in 5 different countries and are currently building more.

There is a lot to finding girls who have a high potential for being trafficked into the sex trade. Some things considered when they chose a girls to join their home is relatives already in the sex trade, broken down homes, parents divorced, no income, no parents, and much more. They have a great system that can accurately predict if a girl will be trafficked. Of all the girls Remember Nhu has brought in, at least 90% of them would have been trafficked into prostitution. So according to this stat, they have kept over 200 girls completely free of this. This is awesome!

This organization has an awesome approach to the problem with prostitution. There are a lot of organizations that bring girls out of prostitution and put them into good jobs and in the hands of loving and Godly people. Although this is great, there is a big downside to it. Once you bring a girl out of this industry, they are replaced by a new girl. This just exposes more and more women to this. Carl, the founder of Remember Nhu, said to us, “Put yourself in their shoes. Would you rather have been pulled out of prostitution, or have been prevented from ever going into it?”

Around the world 1,000,000 children are trafficked into the sex trade each year.
which means 2,740 children enter each day.
or 114 children each hour.
That's almost 2 children every minute of every day.

They have found children as young as 2 years old locked in rooms as sex slaves and regularly find 8 to 12 year olds.
Four of the 5 worst countries for child sex trafficking are Cambodia, India, Philippines and Thailand.

In Cambodia if a child enters the sex trade prior to their 18th birth day there is a 90% chance they will come out with AIDS

In Asia children are regularly forced to service 10 to 15 men per night.
Girls in India are forced to service up to 25 men per night.
In Thailand and Cambodia 1 in 5 people earn their living from the sex trade.

1/3 of the men abusing the children are locals (men in those countries), 1/3 are government officials and policemen, 1/3 are foreigners.  Of those Korean and American men are the largest number of abusers.

Many times girls say the worst beatings they received, while in the sex trade, are when customers complained that the girls did not thank the customers for what they did to the girls.

Most programs that work to get children out of the sex trade have recidivism rates of more than 75%.  That means that over 75% of the children go back into the sex trade.

Remember Nhu helps to prevents these girls from ever entering into all of this.
