This month in Kenya we got to do a pretty cool a unique ministry. Our contacts Ben and Christine started a orphanage school for high school age children a while back, and we were able to hang out and talk to a lot of these kids this month and got to know them very well. Later in the month we found out they have many needs. They have no one paying for their education, they barely get by with food, they don't usually have much toiletries, and their sleeping conditions are not the best. Their is a lot of need here that goes beyond what we can do on the field here. We all put our heads together and decided to do what we can to help. So here's what we did:
We started to have a vision to tell these kids stories. We wanted to get photos, videos, histories and stats on each student, and someday have a website. So this month we focused on getting the stories. We interviewed each student and took each one of their pictures and got some videos on their stories. We will be working on putting all this information together on a website and using that to tell their stories. I can't wait to see what happens when we get all this in place. It takes some time though.
It's been awesome to do this type of ministry this month. We are hoping and praying that this vision can become a reality and that these kids can be supported in the near future.
In the meantime, check out a few of these profile shots we did:
