This month all the guys are together for what we call "Manistry", and so far we've been doing a lot of construction and getting to know girls here at Remember Nhu. But we had no Idea we would be fighting fires!
It just a normal day off and we had just gotten back from church service at the property. We were all kind of doing our own thing, playing cards, watching movies, surfing the internet. Typical day off stuff. All of a sudden our neighbor, who works fo Remember Nhu, came running in saying the property was on fire! We all kind of froze not quite understanding what she really meant, but then she said to get ready to be picked up and go put it out! Instantly we all ran to change into work clothes and went outside to wait for the truck to arrive. We somehow managed to cram 20 people in 1 pickup truck and drove strait to the property, and when we arrived we were instantly blown away by the size of the fire! We were also very scared for the girls safety. The flames were huge and it had already consumed about 3 acres of the neighbors land and quickly heading toward the girls land. We did our best to run hoses, grab buckets and fill them with water, anything that we could, but the flames were not going to be tamed by our little buckets and garden hoses. At least, that's what we thought going into this.

Fortunately, with the help of the girls and many prayers we were able to tame the fire and keep it for crossing the fence line. The fire never touched the property! It was amazing to see such a drastic holt of the fire. Apparently God did want to preserve the land.

So, while everyone was running around with buckets of water, I was running around with my camera. I filmed most of the events that took place during these 2 hours of fighting, and I made a video of it. So check it out:
