“I think the greatest weakness in the church today is that almost no one believes that God invests His power in the Bible. Everyone is looking for power in a program, in a methodology, in a technique, in anything and everything but that in which God has placed it—His Word. He alone has the power to change lives for eternity, and that power is focused on the Scriptures.”
― R.C. Sproul, The Prayer of the Lord
Being in the Word and in Prayer is vital if one wants to experience a deeper understanding of God. It is not what we do, what we say, or what we think that draws us to Him. God meets us right where we are, therefore we must fully submitt in reverence. So many times in our prayer life, we make God out to be something He really is not. I know I tend to picture God as Gandoff at times just sitting on His throne hearing out my prayer requests. Hello!! God is bigger than that! In reality, God can't be anything that is created or known to man. It's like a artist who paints a beautiful masterpieace. It is impossibe for the artist to be the very thing that he created, however through the painting we can see that something with intellectual knowledge desgined this work of art. So I pray that our minds and our thoughts will stop limiting God, but crumble at the stillness of His mighty presence.
Here are some Scripture passages that demonstrate the holiness of God.
- And one cried to another and said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory! Isaiah 6: 3
-
There is none holy like the Lord, there is none besides You; there is no Rock like our God.
1 Samuel 2: 2 - But as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living. 1 Peter 1: 15
-
Who shall not reverence and glorify Your name, O Lord [giving You honor and praise in worship]? For You only are holy. All the nations shall come and pay homage and adoration to You, for Your just judgments (Your righteous sentences and deeds) have been made known and displayed.
Revelation 15: 4
World Race in reality is not going to make us right with God, nor will it draw us closer to God. God makes it very clear it is all about a personal relationship with Him, not by good works. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Having faith and desiring God is what we are called to do. So I encourage you to constantly be in prayer and in meditation of Scripture. Holy Holy are you Lord, forever you reign in the hearts of men and women. May we on World Race serve and Glorify you in all we do. Not by our strength, but by your strength. We are not doing this to win favor in your eyes, but to worship and prasie you for all you have done.
