It’s been two weeks since I’ve written a blog and you haven’t heard about Honduras yet! So since it’s been so long (no internet available), I’ve written two blogs. I can't even explain how difficult it was to even get on right now to post this. Internet is like pulling every tooth in Honduras, so this is super nice 😀  You can either read one at a time or both, but these two blogs are important to what I’m doing in Honduras.

                                                                             Honduras isn’t a vacation
Honduras is the second poorest country in Central America and the most dangerous country in the world. This is also where I am living this month. We’re staying with a ministry called Zion’s Gate in which has a different way of thinking when it comes to ministry. This ministry is ran by an American man named Tony who married a woman from here, and another man named Pastor Nathan (who is ironically from Versailles Missouri). Pastor Nathan came to Honduras with his wife and live in the poor community unlike any other missionaries here. This ministry is about quality not quantity. They take kids off the street who are in gangs, huff paint fumes to get high, beat and kill each other with weapons. Tony and his wife literally take these kids into their home and live with them trying to change their lives. God has called Tony to focus on a few and pour into those few instead of tackling the hoard. God and all of heaven celebrate when just one comes into the kingdom and changes their life, and this is what this ministry focuses on. They find these kids at a place called Los Pinos. This is where the cream of the crop of gangster kids and dangerous actions take place. When we arrived here, Tony told us that no other missionaries will go to Los Pinos because it’s so dangerous. Not many people actually believe in Tony’s ministry because “It’s an impossible mission”. Tony said he could write a thick book about his failures in this ministry and only a pamphlet about the successes. Imagine three kids who are off the streets, addicted to drugs, beat and kill people, stole on a daily basis, and don’t know the definition of love coming and living with you. This is life for Tony and his wife. These three kids are absolutely amazing and I love pouring into them. Please pray for change, growth, respect, and love for these kids. If I can get internet I will write a blog about these three amazing boys.

                                                                                My new life
I am working at a church called Mi Vina. This church has five different church locations, is on broadcasted on television, and even has its own channel that goes to Honduras and Spain. This channel is the 12thtop television channel in Honduras and the church is widely known. Through this ministry of working here we’ve been doing a number of different ministries. The other day we had no idea where we were going, or what we were doing, we were just on the bus going somewhere. We show up in a pretty poor area of Tegucigalpa Honduras, leave our bags and belongings behind, and start walking in the neighborhood to do some ministry. Our pastors who were leading us had about six places they had planned on us visiting, but that didn’t happen like they had planned. We walk four feet outside our door we started in and start praying for a man. Next thing we know, people start flocking to us for prayer like they did Jesus. There was one man who came up to my team leader Brandon and was arguing with Brandon that there’s no way he could be forgiven and saved. As Brandon kept pouring into this man, the man shared that he had killed twelve people outside of the bar with a machine gun. The man was expecting Brandon to lay off, agree and walk away. Five minutes later, the man gave his life to God. There was a lady who came to us who I couldn’t tell if she was trying to sell her stack of bowls and cups to us, if she was just watching the show, or if she wanted prayers. We went up to her and simply asked her name, and she took us to the side and told us that she has been a pastor for fourteen years and has cheated on her husband every day this week. I was shocked. This Pastor lady was SEARCHING for freedom, so much that she would flock to a bunch of gringos and spill her guts about her adultery. There are so many more things that happened that day but I would have to write a book. After this awesome experience we went to a Christian concert where these Honduran people were SO hungry for the Lord! At the concert I was able to let go of several things that was hindering me from God which was so freeing! Greater things are yet to come and greater things are still to be done in this city!
